How the archive works.
Every edition is published in a named limit, signed and numbered by the artist, and held against a gallery-issued certificate of authenticity.
Every print we publish has a unique Weftgate reference of the form WG/YY/NN — year of publication, then edition number in the year. Plate numbers within a multi-image edition are Roman; the full ref therefore looks like WG/25/14 · Plate III, which pairs to a specific artist, image, medium and size.
All editions come signed and numbered on the front (or verso, where the image reaches the paper's edge) and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity bearing the edition ref, date of sale, print-run total, and the artist's original mark. The certificate is held in the gallery archive as well as sent to you.
We post within the UK via fully-insured tracked courier; internationally via a signature-required art-courier service on request. Framing is in-house by arrangement, typically three to six weeks.
