Operational reset of a third-generation industrial services group

Board composition was redesigned, the remuneration architecture rebuilt to align cash flow with owner-manager incentives, and a three-year strategic capex programme defended to the family council. The engagement ran from first commercial diligence through to permanent-chair succession, with the senior partner on every board meeting.

Outcome, post-handover: 13% operating-margin uplift within the first full year; chair still in post.

Sector focus & deployment cadence for a lower-mid-market sponsor

Committed-capital strategy review for a £420m fund entering its fourth vintage. A defensible sector thesis was established, deployment timing revised, and a new operating-partner structure introduced to the LP advisory committee. The LPAC endorsed the plan at its next scheduled meeting.

Chair succession for a listed family-controlled retailer

Confidential chair search following the retirement of a founder who had held the seat for 31 years. Candidate slate was assembled and interviewed by the family council; the incoming chair was installed with a documented three-year handover brief. The outgoing chair retained a non-executive board seat for one year to provide continuity.
